95/100 JS

Tasting Notes

Deep, almost black, opaque purple with dark violet rim variations.

On the Nose expressive aromatics of bright red cherries, ripe raspberries, cassis, and fresh violets, backed by sweet spices, dried herbs, and a distinct flinty, chalk-like minerality.

On the Palate juicy and structured on entry with vibrant black and red fruit (cherry, blueberry). Mid-palate presents fine, chalky, textured tannins driven by the limestone soil, integrated acidity, and subtle spice notes leading to a fresh, long, mineral finish.

Serving: Serve slightly cool at 60°F – 65°F (15°C – 18°C). A brief 20- to 30-minute decant lets the floral and limestone nuances open up.

Food Pairings: Exceptional alongside traditional Argentine asado (grilled meats), peppered steak, braised short ribs, grilled lamb chops with chimichurri, roasted portobello mushrooms, and hard aged cheeses like Manchego.
