Girlan Patricia Pinot Noir 2023 is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Alto Adige DOC in northern Italy, made by Cantina Girlan. The grapes come from three estate vineyards at 380-530 meters, on volcanic porphyry and limestone soils. The wine is aged for 12 months in wooden barrels, then rests six more months in bottle. In the glass it is a bright ruby, with intense aromas of sweet and sour cherry and ripe raspberry. The palate is juicy and elegant, with lively acidity, a velvety texture and a long, refined finish that carries an alpine minerality.

Why buy it: This is a 92-point Wine Enthusiast Pinot Noir from one of Alto Adige’s most respected cooperatives. It is a great pick if you love Burgundy-style reds but want to explore somewhere new. It has the same red-fruit charm and finesse, with a fresh mountain edge. It is easy to enjoy now and can be cellared until 2030.

When to open it: Open it for a relaxed dinner with friends, a cozy autumn evening, or a gift for a Pinot Noir lover. It pairs well with mushroom risotto, pasta with porcini and a charcuterie board with mild, nutty cheeses.
