Tasting Notes

A vibrant deep straw yellow with greenish reflections.

On the nose vibrant citrus peel, white jasmine, and green apple, fresh peach, followed by a signature note of fresh Mediterranean herbs (fennel, thyme) and white flowers.

On the palate medium-bodied with a driving acidity and distinct saline minerality, slightly bitter almond finish that is a hallmark of high-quality Verdicchio. Flavors of lemon peel, green apple and peach. The finish is long, crisp and persistent, closing on a traditional, pleasantly bitter fresh-almond note that provides balance and food-friendly structure.

Serving: Best served at 46–50°F (8–10°C). Don't serve it ice-cold; you want the mineral and almond notes to show.

Food pairing: recommended for pizza night, seafood, clams or fritto misto. Also good with vegetables, asparagus or salads with crunchy greens and goat cheese.

The 2024 Terralibera Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore comes from a single vineyard on the hillside of Serra de' Conti in Marche, and it balances raw energy with a sophisticated, textured palate: lemon peel, green apple and peach, a saline minerality, and a clean, slightly bitter almond finish.

The estate farms organically, supported by a few biodynamic techniques and a wider sustainability project. The winemaking is low-intervention: hand harvesting, native yeasts and very little added sulfur. Founder Gian Mario Bongini was inspired by "the dream to return to the land," and that respect for the vineyard runs through every bottle.

Why buy it: if you love crisp, mineral whites like Chablis or Albariño, this gives you the same freshness and salty edge with an Italian twist. It's also a great way to try Verdicchio, a grape most people haven't met yet.

When to open it: pizza night, a seafood dinner of clams or fritto misto, or an aperitif with friends. It's refreshing enough for a casual get-together and interesting enough to start a conversation. Serve it lightly chilled, and a little cooler than room-temperature white.
