94/100 JS

Tasting Notes

Clear, translucent ruby red with subtle garnet reflections near the rim.

On the Nose floral notes of fresh violets and roses, backed by wild red fruits (pomegranate, sour cherry, raspberry), earthy tea leaf, and subtle wood spice.

On the Palate medium-bodied, supple, and precise with bright, electrifying acidity and silky, fine-grained tannins. Long, juicy, and mineral-driven with lingering herbal and earthy notes.

Serving: Ideal temperature 57–61°F (14–16°C). Slightly cellar-chilled allows the bright red fruit and floral aromatics to shine without letting alcohol overpower the palate. Decant for 30–45 minutes prior to serving to help open up the oak spice and mineral complexity.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with Poultry & Game (Roasted duck breast, quail, roasted turkey).

Meats (Veal cutlets, rack of lamb, pan-seared pork tenderloin).

Earth & Mushrooms (Wild mushroom risotto or mushroom pasta, truffle dishes).

Aged Cheeses (Fontina, Gruyère).

The Cantina Terlano 'Monticol' Pinot Noir Riserva 2022 is an exceptional expression of alpine Pinot Noir from Northern Italy’s Alto Adige region. Grown on high-altitude, volcanic-porphyry slopes, this vintage balances Old World structure with vibrant alpine freshness. Age-worthy yet immediately approachable, it displays layers of juicy red berries, forest floor complexity, and fine-grained tannins polished by 12–14 months of aging in oak barriques and big wooden casks.
