92/100 JS

Tasting Notes

A deep violet-ruby hue with bright magenta or dark purple edges, typical of high-altitude Uco Valley Malbecs.

On the Nose expressive aromas of crushed violets, blackberries, dark cherries, plum, wild mountain herbs, and a touch of sweet spice/vanilla from the oak.

On the Palate medium-to-full-bodied with bright, tart fruit, energetic acidity, and fine, chalky/taut tannins that give it structure.  Long, juicy, and mineral-laced with lingering cocoa and blue/black berry notes.

Serving: Serve slightly cool at 60°F–65°F (15°C–18°C). Avoid room temperature if your space is warm (above 70°F), as higher temperatures make the alcohol taste harsh and mute the delicate violet aromas. Decant for 30 to 45 minutes before drinking, it helps soften its firm high-altitude tannins and lets the blackberry, vanilla, and cocoa notes open up fully.

Food Pairings: Pairs exceptionally well with grilled red meats, ribeye, skirt steak, lamb chops and burgers. Roasted mushroom, root vegetables, lentil or black bean stews. Firm, aged cheese varieties like Gouda, Manchego, or sharp Cheddar and blue cheese.
