94/100 WS

Tasting Notes

Deep, vibrant ruby red.

On the nose highly aromatic and lifted. It opens with beautifully scented tea leaf, sweet tobacco, wet earth, dusty rose, and lavender, followed by dried strawberries, Rainier cherry, and fresh cedar shavings.

On the palate medium-to-full-bodied with ample substance and a juicy texture. It delivers tart red fruit, sweet ripe raspberry, red plum, and rhubarb, accented by savory hints of licorice, tar, iron, and eucalyptus.
Scintillating acidity balances the broad, powdery tannins. The prolonged traditional oak aging imparts a slightly dry, dusty authority to the tannins that provides an elegant framework.
Harmonious, lingering, and mineral-infused finish, with blue and purple florals and savory accents.

Food pairing: best food pairings for your bottle is with classic meats, steak seasoned simply with coarse salt, pepper, and olive oil. Wild Boar (Cinghiale), roasted Lamb: Hearty Pasta & Grains. Hard and aged cheeses.

The 2020 Padelletti Brunello di Montalcino is an outstanding choice. As one of the oldest winemaking families in Montalcino, Padelletti is known for a very traditional, elegant, and terroir-driven style of Sangiovese.

It’s bright, bold, and earthy - bursting with notes of sour cherry, dried herbs, and sun-drenched leather. High energy acidity and firm tannins make it a powerhouse at the dinner table, especially when paired with a salty steak or aged cheese.

A “smart buy” for collectors looking for quality without the extreme price spikes of some “cult” labels.
