Tasting Notes

Bright golden color with fine, persistent bubbles.

On the nose opens with freshness and fruit, offering lemon meringue, Mirabelle plum, and yellow stone fruit, followed by subtle honeyed and toasted notes as the wine opens.

On the palate, it is rich and generous, with excellent volume and structure provided by Pinot Noir. Elegant floral notes of hawthorn and white flowers blend seamlessly with citrus-driven acidity, leading to a long, refined finish.

Serving: Best served at 46–50°F (8–10°C). Avoid serving ice-cold straight from a standard refrigerator (around 38°F/3°C), which muted aromas and overemphasizes the sharp malic acidity.

Food pairing: Gosset’s high natural acidity, full body, and Pinot-heavy core make it an extraordinarily versatile partner for rich, fatty, savory, and high-acid dishes.

Seafood & Raw Bar: Oysters on the half shell, sea scallop carpaccio, hamachi sashimi, lobster tail with drawn butter.

Rich Meats & Poultry: Roasted capon, pan-seared duck breast with apple or plum glaze, veal cutlets.

Salty & Savory Bites: Aged Gouda, Parmigiano-Reggiano, fried chicken, truffle fries, jamón Ibérico.

Creamy Dishes: Mushroom risotto, seafood chowder, cream-based pastaThe crisp acidity cuts clean through heavy dairy creams and butter.

Gosset Grande Réserve Brut is a non-vintage Champagne from one of the oldest houses in Champagne, blended from 45% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 10% Meunier. The house style is purity, structure and longevity. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately skipped to keep the natural acidity, and the wine ages at least four years on its lees. The bottles then rest six months after disgorgement so the 8 g/l dosage can integrate. The result is bright and fresh, with lemon meringue, Mirabelle plum and yellow stone fruit, then honeyed and toasted notes as it opens. The palate is rich and generous, with hawthorn and white flowers, citrus acidity and a long, refined finish.

Why buy it: This is a 92 points Wine Spectator Champagne with at least four years of aging, a level of depth that Champagnes at this price rarely offer. Free shipping on 6+ bottles makes it easy to stock up for the holidays.

When to open it: Open it for a celebration, a holiday toast, or an evening that deserves more than everyday bubbles. It is rich enough to take center stage as an aperitif or to carry a dinner. It drinks well now, and you can cellar a few bottles until 2030 to see it develop.
