Tasting Notes

Pale straw in color with green highlights.

On the nose the wine opens with lifted aromas of almond, white peach, pear, and stone fruit, accented by delicate floral notes and a hint of fresh hay.

On the palate crisp acidity and a gently saline edge frame a medium-bodied structure. Expect a crisp burst of green apple, pear, and white peach and a subtle, nutty hint of almond. The signature of the Dorgó vineyard is its volcanic soil, which translates into a distinct saline/salty minerality and a "wet stone" sensation on the mid-palate. The finish is long and refreshing, often ending with a touch of elegant bitterness (characteristic of the Furmint grape) and a lingering herbal note like hay or white pepper.

Food pairing: Because of its high acidity and saline edge, this wine is a "Swiss knife" for food. Oysters & Shellfish: The mineral finish mimics a French Chardonnay, making it perfect for raw bars. Asian Cuisine: It cuts through the heat of Thai or Vietnamese dishes beautifully. Florida favorites: t’s a fantastic match for grilled snapper or grouper with a squeeze of lime.

Serving: The "sweet spot" for this wine is 50°F - 54°F (10°C - 12°C).

Dorgó is a single cru vineyard from the heart of Domaine Disznókö, Tokaj’s most iconic estate in Hungary. High elevation volcanic soils give the fruit an unmistakable mineral intensity, so precise and expressive that it has become instantly recognizable in blind tastings. This rare character caught the attention of London’s Michelin-starred Master Sommeliers, who commissioned Domaine Disznókö to bottle this exceptional parcel as its own label: Dorgó.

When you buy Dorgó, you are getting a wine made by some of the most elite winemakers in Europe, coming from a vineyard that has been legally recognized as "superior" for nearly 300 years.
