Tasting Notes

Dark, vibrant ruby color to deep violet core.

On the Nose highly aromatic with notes of black cherries, dark mulberry, black olives, crushed peppercorn, redcurrant, cardamom, sweet tobacco, espresso, and subtle hints of lavender, cocoa, and cedar.

On the Palate medium- to full-bodied with a bright, juicy core. Red and black fruit flavors (plum, cherry, and blackberry) intermingle with ground spices, earth, and excellent cocoa powdery tannins. Smooth, velvety, fine-grained tannins with lively natural acidity that gives it focus and energy through a long, spice-accented finish.

Serving: Best serve at 55°F to 58°F (12°C–14°C). Decant for 30–60 minutes prior to serving to let the aromatics open up.

Food Pairing: Grilled & Smoked Meats (Ribeye steak, venison, roasted lamb chops, or gourmet burgers). Hearty Dishes (Beef bourguignon, spiced pork sausages (like South African boerewors), or slow-cooked stews). Cheeses (Aged Gouda, Sharp Cheddar, or Manchego).

Full-bodied yet gracefully balanced, it delivers an aromatic perfume of dark mulberry, black olives, crushed peppercorn, and lavender, followed by juicy plum, dark cherry, cocoa, and savory herbs framed by fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity.

It is a pleasing centerpiece for a generous meal. Whether you are hosting a braai, carving a prime ribeye, or gathering friends over a hearty slow-cooked stew, this wine opens with immediate flair—offering rich complexity and food-friendly energy right out of the bottle without needing years in the cellar.
