Tasting Notes

Bright yellow color.

On the Nose aromatic and deeply mineral, opening with vibrant notes of acacia, linden blossom, and lemon-seasoned wet stone. As the wine breathes, it reveals layers of underripe stone fruit, fresh pear, and dried mountain herbs.
On the Palate it is lightly unctuous, a result of six months of sur lie aging in French oak puncheons and demi-muids—yet sharply precise. A driving, lightly malic acidity perfectly balances the wine's textural weight, carrying through to an austere, crushed-rock finish that lingers beautifully.

Food pairing: The nature of Avancia Godello possessing crisp freshness and textural richness allows it to cut through rich sauces while beautifully complementing delicate seafood. Seafood and Shellfish, octopus, pan-seared scallops or lobster with a buttery beurre blanc sauce, raw bar. Poultry and meat, herbed chicken or turkey. Grilled pork chops or a charcuterie board featuring cured hams. Grilled asparagus, artichokes, and fennel-forward dishes. A fresh summer salad featuring avocado, cucumber, green apple, and a bright citrus vinaigrette. Its vibrant acidity cuts through the fat of rich cheeses effortlessly, Manchego or fresh Chèvre (goat cheese).

Serving: To fully appreciate its complex aromatic profile and unique texture, avoid serving it ice-cold or straight from a standard refrigerator. Best served slightly chilled at 50–54°F (8–12°C). If it's too cold, the gorgeous aromas of white peach, citrus zest, and lees-derived creaminess will be muted.

This stunning 100% Godello offers tantalizing flavors of tart pineapple, white peach, and citrus zest. Grapes are hand-harvested from very old, organically-grown, dry-farmed vines planted in 1904, 1939, and 1962, and the wine spends a bit less than a year in large French oak with bâtonnage. This bottling has been recognized by Robert Parker as Spain's best Godello!
