Tasting Notes

Clean, vibrant straw yellow.

On the nose expect citrus (lime and lemon peel) and green apple, backed by a distinct "wet stone" or chalky minerality. You’ll also find delicate white flowers and a hint of tropical fruit like pineapple.

On the palate: It has a racy acidity that creates tension, making it feel light, with a medium-low body with a stony citrus flavor. The wine leaves a distinct seasalt or savory quality on the finish. You might catch a faint, pleasant bitterness like almond skin which adds complexity and makes you want to take another sip.

Food pairing: Because of its high acidity and salty finish, it is a "gastronomic" wine. It pairs exceptionally well with fresh seafood and oysters. Grilled white fish with lemon and herbs. Soft cheeses (like goat cheese). Light poultry dishes.

Serving: Best served at 50°F-54°F (10°C–12°C).

The Pormenor Branco is a standout example of the "new" Douro style moving away from heavy, oak-driven whites toward something much more electric, mineral, and precise. Produced by the trio of José Silva, Miguel Cardozo, and Pedro Coelho, this wine is all about elevation and freshness.
Low intervention, wild yeasts, and minimal sulfur for a transparent expression of terroir.  If you love the mineral, "stony" feel of a French Chardonnay or an Etna Bianco, this is its Portuguese soulmate. It is lean, vertical, and incredibly refreshing.

Sourced from 60 to 100-year-old vines at 600m+ altitude, it offers a depth of flavor and complexity that younger vineyards simply cannot produce.

Its signature saline finish is a literal palate-cleanser, making it one of the best companions for oysters, raw seafood, or grilled fish.

It consistently punches above its price point, earning critical scores (often 90-92 points) that usually belong to wines twice as expensive.
