Tasting Notes

A bright, pale straw yellow with shimmering greenish reflections. Generally clear, but because it is unfined and unfiltered, it may have a slight "haze" or tiny tartrate crystals at the bottom of the bottle. This is a sign of quality and natural winemaking, not a defect.

On the Nose expect a "reductive" start that opens up into aromas of dry grass, crisp green apple, lemon flower, and a very subtle hint of toast from the old wood.

On the Palate it is bone-dry and "salty." The high altitude gives it a citrus-driven core (lemon peel and grapefruit) with a vertical, mineral structure. The acidity is the star here, it's high and "greedy," making you want another sip immediately. The finish is Medium-long with a touch of smoke and a savory, umami edge.

Food pairing: This wine acts like a "squeeze of lemon" on food. Its high acidity and saline (salty) finish make it an incredible tool for cutting through fatty fish, oysters, or salt-baked sea bass to balance its sharp acidity.

Serving: Best served at 50°F-54°F (10°C–12°C).

The Pormenor "A de Arinto" 2021 is a high-altitude, minimal-intervention white wine from the Douro region of Portugal. Produced by Pedro Coelho (with consulting from famed winemaker Luís Seabra), this vintage is defined by its searing acidity and electric minerality.

This is not your typical "fruity" white wine. It’s a lean, "geeky" wine that focuses on tension and terroir. If you enjoy French Chardonnay or dry Riesling, this will likely be the right choice.
